Biography

Brendan Gage

I was born in Warrington, UK in 1984 but spent my formative years in Chesterfield. This small town lies just south of Sheffield, lying in the beautiful and looming countyside of the Peak District. I first began to take pictues in a serious way after being employed by an independent camera retailer. For the last few years I have continued in this trade. It has been especialy useful to me, teaching me the difference between methods and equipment in photography in the last hundred years or so.

My Photography is a mixture of styles and subjects. This website contains a small number of images in both stills and cine that hopefully reflect this. While I would firstly call myself a portrait photographer I am drawn to landscapes constantly, and odd as it may seem find photojournalism often the most intruiging. I would list Freed, Bresson, Brandt, and Parks as just a few of the photographers who I attempt to follow.
